SUMO-conjugating enzyme UBC9, plays a major role in sumoylation [74]. UBE2I expression is increased in several cancers as in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) [75], colon and prostate neoplasias and adenocarcinomas [76]. Moreover, overexpression of UBE2I has also been related to migration, invasion and proliferation in a lung cancer cell line [77] and in ovarian cancer [78]. This evidence concerns the gene UBE2I and adenocarcinoma.
