CD4 and AIDS: After using “a CD4 cell count of <200 cells/μL or AIDS incidence in ≤3 months of HIV diagnosis” as a definition of LP (i.e., as the definition of AIDS incidence at presentation in the present study), the present study found a lower proportion of HIV patients with LP (20.2%) than that reported from other Asia-Pacific countries in the TREAT Asia HIV Observational Database (TAHOD) (72%) [4], China (27.3%) [3], and European countries [COHERE (33.2%)] [5].
