We find that FZD8 is a major Wnt-11 receptor in prostate cancer and show that it is upregulated in metastatic disease, where it plays a crucial role in mediating crosstalk between Wnt and TGF-β signaling pathways during the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT), which is important for prostate cancer cell migration and invasion. This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and Familial prostate cancer.
