So far, it has been demonstrated that the alterations of MBNL1 or CELF1 in DM1 lead to mis-splicing of some sarcomere component transcripts, e.g. PDLIM3 (Lin et al., 2006), MYH14 (Rinaldi et al., 2012), MYOM1 (Koebis et al., 2011), TNNT2 (Philips et al., 1998) or TNNT3 (Lin et al., 2006; Vihola et al., 2010; Yamashita et al., 2012). Here, CELF1 is linked to myotonic dystrophy type 1.
