IFNAR1 and hepatocellular carcinoma: Patients carrying at least one −77VNTR >8(GT) allele, presented a strong upregulation of the FN-1 gene, while FN-1 was significantly downregulated in ≤8/≤8(GT)-repeats carrying patients, a phenomenon coinciding with the expression of the secondary IFNAR-1 transcript, which implies its potentially protective role against the development of HCC.
