Patients who underwent CABG had higher values of the following baseline clinical parameters: body mass index, diastolic blood pressure, creatinine, frequencies of prior myocardial infarction, diabetes and hypertension, frequencies of prior percutaneous coronary interventions, frequencies of preoperative treatment with angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, beta-blockers, calcium antagonists, and statins. This evidence concerns the gene ACE and diabetes mellitus.
