An increased CD25 expression on Vδ1+ T cells in short-term cultures of SSc (relative to HC) in the absence of any additional triggers other than low-dose IL-2, suggests that enhanced activation of these cells in vivo as previously demonstrated by Giacomelli et al., which is presumably triggered by autoantigens, is maintained in vitro (Figure 1B) (6).
