Therefore, we performed the methylation-specific PCR (MSP) to detect the promoter methylation of GAS7. The preliminary results indicated that several breast cancer cell lines as well as many clinical tumor samples display hypermethylation in the GAS7 promoter region (Supplementary Figure S16), suggesting that promoter methylation could be another mechanism for regulating GAS7 gene expression. Here, GAS7 is linked to breast carcinoma.
