Experimental evidence indicates that FLT3 signalling induces a cascade of events that involves an intricate network of signalling components comprising CDK6, PI3K, STAT (signal transducer and activators of transcription), AKT (protein kinase B), BCL2-BAD (BCL2-family protein – BCL2 antagonist of cell death), RAS, MEK/ERK (mitogen-activated ERK kinase / extracellular signal-regulated kinase) and other cellular components known to play a role in the development of diverse cancers [11, 12, 14, 26–37]. This evidence concerns the gene CDK6 and cancer.
