The results of this study suggest that the G allele of rs361525 in the TNF-α gene may be a risk factor for overweight/obesity in the Korean population, with the frequency of the G/G genotype in the overweight/obese group being 9.3% higher than that in the control group (p= 0.0046) [41]. Here, TNF is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
