In a recent systematic review, Richard et al.8 reported that consuming 1–2 eggs per day for 12 weeks did not adversely affect some CVD risk factors, including plasma concentrations of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), glucose, and inflammation markers (TNF-α and IL-6) among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Here, IL6 is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
