Although further studies are needed to address whether these correlations are consequence of a functional deficiency of SALL2, it is intriguing that upregulation of cyclin E1 has been reported in many cancer types, and most carefully investigated in breast cancer (Barton et al., 2006; Hwang and Clurman, 2005; Inoue and Fry, 2016; Keyomarsi et al., 2002; Möröy and Geisen, 2004).
