CD4 and tuberculosis: In the same model, higher CD4 counts at TB diagnosis were associated with a lower risk of death (HR 0.27, 95%CI: 0.17–0.42, p < 0.001) for patients with CD4 of 350 cells/mm3 compared to those with CD4 50 cells/mm3, and naïve patients had a lower risk of death (HR 0.64, 95%CI: 0.43–0.96, p = 0.03) (Table 3).
