KCNIP3 and infection: Given the central role of inflammation and NF-κB signalling in the processes of human labour and delivery, it was hypothesised that (i) human labour and infection would be associated with increased DREAM expression in human myometrium and fetal membranes and (ii) DREAM silencing would be associated with decreased expression and release of prolabour mediators in the presence of proinflammatory stimuli.
