Previous rodent amyloid PET studies using 11C-PIB or 18F-florbetaben failed to discriminate between young AD mice (PS2APP, G384A, APP/PS1; all mice age less than 12 months) and WT mice in terms of specific binding in the hippocampus [15], whereas the differences of binding values in 20-month-aged APP/PS1 mice were successfully detected by 18F-FC119S [17].
