Laminin subunit beta 3 (LAMB3) and hydroxysteroid 11-beta dehydrogenase 1 (HSD11B1) genes, which influence hair morphogenesis and dermatitis in both mice and humans, respectively, were identified as the most likely candidates for influencing mature fleece weight within the associated QTL (Imanishi et al., 2014; Terao et al., 2016). The gene discussed is HSD11B1; the disease is skin disorder.
