Indeed, synaptotagmins seem to play a role as APP interactors in promoting Aβ generation (Gautam et al., 2015; Kuzuya et al., 2016): the application of the present methodology to assess their level could help to better clarify their possible involvement in Alzheimer’s disease etiopathogenesis. The gene discussed is APP; the disease is early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
