In univariate analysis, higher release of TNFα (OR 0.19, 95%CI 0.09–0.41, P < 0.01), IP-10 (OR 0.13, 95%CI 0.04–0.38, P < 0.01), IL-1β (OR 0.34, 95%CI 0.18–0.67, P < 0.01), IL-6 (OR 0.62, 95%CI 0.40–0.96, P = 0.03), and IL-12 (OR 0.06, 95%CI 0.01–0.48, P = 0.01) was associated with the reduced risk of delirium. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL10 and delirium.
