STMN1 and glioma: Stathmin regulates dynamic instability, the growth and shrinkage of microtubules by modulating microtubule plus end catastrophes and sequestering alpha‐beta tubulin dimers.40 Consequently, stathmin has direct effects on cellular processes including cell growth and motility by influencing the association of microtubules with the actin cytoskeleton.41 Consistent with this, stathmin has been shown to play important roles in glioma cell growth and motility.19, 42, 43 In our study, we found that the stathmin was significantly up‐regulated upon PHAP1‐induced activation of Akt pathway.
