These identified an inverse association between risk of MM (Table 2) and blood levels of FGF‐2 (OR = 0.22, for 4thQ vs. 1stQ, P‐ trend < 0.0001), fractalkine (OR = 0.25, for 4thQ vs. 1stQ, P‐trend = 0.003), MCP‐3 (OR = 0.34, for 4thQ vs. 1stQ, P‐trend = 0.003), MIP‐1α (OR = 0.38, for 4thQ vs. 1stQ, P‐trend = 0.02), TGF‐α (OR = 0.33, for 4thQ vs. 1stQ, P‐trend = 0.0003) and VEGF (OR = 0.35, for 4thQ vs. 1stQ, P‐trend = 0.001). This evidence concerns the gene CCL3 and Miyoshi myopathy.
