Although there was no change in AKT1 and AKT2 mRNA (GSE84796 and validation—Supplementary Fig. 1c, d) and protein expression (Fig. 9c, d), the activated forms of AKT1 and AKT2 (pAKT1 and pAKT2) were increased in the heart tissue from CCC patients compared to those from DCM patients or healthy controls (Fig. 9c, d). This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and familial dilated cardiomyopathy.
