Apart from the DWI studies, Patel et al. 14 made an important contribution by introducing the ‘T2-FLAIR mismatch’ sign as a highly specific morphological feature of the IDH-mutant, 1p/19q non-codeleted molecular subtype of astrocytomas; Park et al. 15 have used the Visually AcceSAble Rembrandt Images (VASARI) library in lower grade gliomas and shown that features like larger proportion of enhancing tissue, multifocal/multicentric distribution, and poorly marginated non-enhancing tumour tissue were independent predictors of an IDH1 wild type tumour. The gene discussed is IDH1; the disease is central nervous system cancer.
