Recently, GOT1, GPT2, the branched-chain amino acid transferase 1, and phosphoserine aminotransferase 1 have been found to be essential for tumorigenesis of pancreatic adenocarcinoma, glioblastoma, and breast cancer, respectively, further supporting not only the herein described context-dependent role of GOT2 but also of GOT1 and GPT221,24,55,56. The gene discussed is PSAT1; the disease is breast cancer.
