In this study we demonstrate that in HCT116 colon cancer cells, the UEV1A transcript level is moderately elevated compared to normal colon cells, that elevated Uev1A levels are frequently observed in primary and metastatic colon cancers, and that, more importantly, elevated Uev1A is highly correlated with the nuclear translocation of the p65 subunit of NF-κB in human colon cancer samples. This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and malignant colon neoplasm.
