Further flow cytometry analysis showed that the number of pro-fibrotic (M2a-like) macrophages (CD45+ F4/80+ CD11b+ CX3CR1+ CD206+ TGFβ+) (34) significantly decreased (Figure 4E), whereas the number of anti-inflammatory (M2c-like) macrophages (CD45+ F4/80+ CD11b+ CX3CR1+ CD206+ TGFβ−) increased (Figure 4F) upon anti-TGFβ treatment in mice with nephrocalcinosis. This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and nephrocalcinosis.
