Recently, downregulation of Ribophorin II (RPN2), which is part of an N-oligosaccharyl transferase complex, efficiently induced apoptosis in docetaxel-resistant human breast cancer cells in the presence of docetaxel, and RPN2 silencing repressed tumorigenicity and sensitized the tumors to cisplatin treatment [8, 9]. The gene discussed is RPN2; the disease is breast cancer.
