Consequently, the clinical trials involving T2DM (insulin-naïve) patients, comparing Glar 100 U/mL (Glar-100) and NPH (and the concomitant use of OADs), showed similar metabolic control in terms of hemoglobin (Hb) A1c and fasting plasma glucose (FPG), regardless of the OAD-based management, with lower rates of global and nocturnal hypoglycemia in the Glar-100-treated patients.
