The LacI family regulator disrupted by the Tn5 in the A49 mutant possess 96% identity with the LacI/PurR transcriptional regulator of D. dadantii 3937 described by Van Gijsegem et al. (2008) which indicates that in both 3937 and IPO2222, this regulator plays a role in infection process. The gene discussed is TFPI; the disease is infection.
