Having shown that MKP-1 activity in hematopoietic cells dampens the development of IMQ-induced psoriasiform inflammation, to determine whether MKP-1 in non-hematopoietic cells is also critical for psoriasis development, we transplanted WT BM cells into X-ray-irradiated WT and MKP-1−/− mice to generate WT → WT and WT → MKP-1−/− chimeras (Figure 5A).
