Till date, several predisposing factors were described, however, the common precipitating factors in the majority of patients include: medications (Antithrombotic therapy, Dopamine agonists), associated medical conditions (Diabetes mellitus, Arterial hypertension), surgery (Cardiac surgery), head trauma, endocrinological testing [GHRH, TRH, corticotropin releasing hormone (CRH) stimulation test], anticoagulants, and/or snakebite (4, 5).
