Nonetheless, the greater hypotensive effect of chronic AT1 receptor inhibition in the periphery of BPH/2J compared with BPN/3J mice, validates our recent findings based on acute ACE inhibition (Jackson et al., 2013), which suggest that greater peripheral RAS activity plays an important role in the hypertension in BPH/2J mice.
