CCL2 and myocarditis: In Coxsackievirus B (CVB) 3-induced myocarditis, Müller and co-authors could demonstrate that ablation of CX3CR1 resulted in an increased level of CCL2 accompanied by higher numbers of monocytes/macrophages16, further indicating the relevance of the chemokines CCL2 and Cx3CL1 in the attraction of monocytes.
