To determine whether the high susceptibility of Sertoli cells to ZIKV was due to an inability to mount an effective antiviral response, we measured the activation of innate immune genes interferon-β (IFN-B), interferon-λ2 (IFN-λ2), interferon-induced tetratricopeptides-1 (IFIT-1) and oligoadenylate synthase 2 (OAS2) at various times during infection. The gene discussed is IFIT1; the disease is infection.
