TNF-α induced secretion of IL-6 activates the production of CRP by stimulating the transcription of the CRP gene via activation of the IRAK1 and signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) inflammatory pathways; thereby, causing the high CRP levels observed in psoriasis, PsA and rheumatoid arthritis [25–27]. The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is rheumatoid arthritis.
