Of those 71 patients (71/92, 77.2%) who received conclusive histological diagnoses from the initial US-CNB, the results contributed to the best and prompt management decisions including those related to palliative care (n = 9), surgery-centered treatment (n = 6), chemotherapy-centered treatment (n = 55), and targeted therapy (n = 1) with crizotinib due to positive ALK gene translocation of lung cancer. The gene discussed is ALK; the disease is lung carcinoma.
