Ketone supplements demonstrate promise as potential adjunct treatments for brain injury (White & Venkatesh, 2011), cancer (Poff et al., 2015; Poff et al., 2014), Angelman syndrome (Ciarlone et al., 2016), for reducing inflammation by suppressing activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome (Youm et al., 2015), and Alzheimer’s disease (Kashiwaya et al., 2013).
