CCK and epilepsy: Our general hypothesis is that the intrinsic membrane properties of pyramidal cells and the two major subclasses of interneurons: fast spiking (FS), parvalbumin (PV)‐expressing and adapting, cholecystokinin (CCK)‐expressing interneurons are altered, leading to impaired local circuit activity in the hippocampus during epilepsy, and that the activity of these cells and their local circuit function will be restored by CBD, due to a neuroprotective effect.
