Regardless the method for measurement of circulating CRP concentration used, recent studies have reported significantly higher serum CRP concentration in dogs with CHF due to MMVD or dilated cardiomyopathy compared to clinically healthy dogs [17, 18] or in comparison to asymptomatic dogs [16, 17], which is in accordance with our results. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is dilated cardiomyopathy.
