FASN and colorectal adenocarcinoma: Orlistat has been shown to induce tumour growth delay in preclinical mouse tumour models, such as models of prostate cancer, melanoma, colorectal adenocarcinoma and oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma.18, 31, 35, 36 Moreover, using proteomic tools in SKOV3 cells, orlistat has been identified, as a potential inhibitor of human ovarian cancer.37 Other FASN inhibitors can also exhibit tumourigenic effects on ovarian cancer models.
