Capsaicin is the most studied polyphenolic amide against CRC. In vitro and in vivo studies in mice bearing Colo-205 tumour xenografts showed that capsaicin significantly reduced tumour progression by activating caspase-3, caspase-8, caspase-9, Bax, Fas and reducing Bcl-2 [218]. The gene discussed is CASP9; the disease is neoplasm.
