A statistically significant association between HLTF hypermethylation and OS in TNM stage I-IV CRC patients was suggested by Wallner et al. and Philipp et al. (HR 3.0 95% CI 1.40–6.40 and Kaplan-Meier p value 0.0008) [78, 81], whereas the study of Cleven et al., using CSS as an endpoint, could not confirm this finding (HR 1.05 95%-CI 0.64–1.74) [73].
