Neuroendocrine cells do not express AR or PSA, but have markers such as chromogranin A, synaptophysin (SYP), and neuron-specific enolase (NSE) that give NED prostate cancer a distinct biomarker profile and should cause suspicion in cases of metastatic CRPC with low serum PSA [89].
