When median plasma cytokine levels were compared across groups, the results showed that co-infected individuals expressed significantly (P < 0.05) higher levels of IL-10 (304 pg/ml) as compared to Plasmodium falciparum malaria infected individuals (11.57 pg/ml) and soil borne helminths infected individuals (77.01 pg/ml, Fig. 2a). Here, IL10 is linked to Plasmodium falciparum malaria.
