Recent results of the phase III randomized trial (PACIFIC) testing the role of the PDL1 antibody durvalumab vs. placebo as consolidation therapy after chemoradiation for stage III non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) demonstrated substantial improvement in progression-free survival (PFS) with durvalumab (16.8 months vs. 5.6 months with placebo), with similar types and severity of side effects (Antonia et al., 2017). This evidence concerns the gene CD274 and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
