Exogenous recombinant HMGB1 was obtained from multiple sources to carry out gain of function studies in Figure 7, and it is important to note that HMGB1 from Sigma Aldrich yields two bands when probed via western blot, consistent with total cell lysates from cancer cell lines (Figure 5a), while R&D System’s HMGB1 protein migrates as one band on a polyacrylamide gel.
