WSB-1 has been previously reported to be a hypoxia-inducible factor in a HIF-dependent manner in osteosarcoma and hepatocellular carcinoma.9,10 As hypoxic regions are a common feature in breast cancer and known key drivers of metastatic potential, we were surprised that WSB-1 expression was not elevated in breast cancers compared to normal tissue. Here, WSB1 is linked to breast carcinoma.
