We found that within our experimental settings, blockade of LAG-3 was consistently superior to PD-1 blockade, independently of the method to measure T cell stimulation (proliferation, IFN-γ secretion), the stimulating antigen (viral and bacterial peptide pool, specific viral antigen, specific tumor antigen), and the type of T cell (CD4+ and CD8+ T cells) used. The gene discussed is CD8A; the disease is neoplasm.
