Because the H79A mutation disrupts the Eya3 interaction with the B55α subunit of PP2A (Fig. 1d, Supplementary Fig. 6b,c), the difference between Eya3H79A and Eya3WT suggests that B55α could act to promote tumor progression, rather than suppress it, a property normally attributed to PP2A24,46. The gene discussed is PTPA; the disease is neoplasm.
