Intriguingly, many of the biological pathways identified, such as apoptosis signaling [19], JAK/STAT signaling [20], integrin signaling [21] and angiogenesis pathways [22], have been associated with development of cardiovascular complications in MFS and its related diseases including aortic and pulmonary artery dilation as well as mitral valve prolapse. Here, SOAT1 is linked to mitral valve prolapse.
