In our study, SREBP-2 expression in the skin tended to be negatively correlated with BMI above the cut-off (>22 kg/m2) and so was significantly lower in the obesity group (BMI ≥ 25 kg/m2) than the control group (BMI < 25 kg/m2). This evidence concerns the gene SREBF2 and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
